Obama Continues His Raid on Medicare that Exploits Senior Citizens’ Medical Insurance

February 21, 2013 in Abuse of Power, Accountability, Medicare, ObamaCare, Political Deception, President Obama, President Ronald Reagan, Redistribution of Wealth, Taxiation with Representation

Screwed AgainRonald Reagan’s “nine most terrifying words in the English language.” are “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”

Barack Hussein Obama  and the Democrat Party proves the point with their promises to provide universal medical coverage that actually turns out to make draconian cuts to Medicare that will eliminate every remaining private Senior Citizen Medicare Advantage insurance plan in the United States.

Seniors have not only borne the brunt of artificially low interest rates by  “Helicopter” Ben Bernanke’s Fed Policies, but now endure ever decreasing funding for Medicare. This fits in with Obama’s redistribution of wealth and absolute power ideology. Take from the rich give to the poor, take from the old give to the youg, etc. You get the idea.

“Projected Medicare savings from Obamacare don’t improve the program. Instead, they pay for other new programs created under the law that aren’t even for seniors.By slashing reimbursement rates instead of introducing real reform, the health law jeopardizes seniors’ access to providers. ”

“…the Obama administration revealed that it would be significantly reducing funding for Medicare, a move that one health insurance analyst said “would turn almost every plan in the industry unprofitable.”

WITH ELECTION OVER, OBAMA ANNOUNCES MEDICARE CUTS TO FUND OBAMACARE

by DR. SUSAN BERRY 20 Feb 2013

During the 2012 election campaign, Democrats denied that ObamaCare made $716 billion in cuts to Medicare in order to provide funding toward $1.9 trillion in new entitlement spending over the next ten years.

In an announcement on Friday, however, the Obama administration revealed that it would be significantly reducing funding for Medicare, a move that one health insurance analyst said “would turn almost every plan in the industry unprofitable.”

Health insurance stocks tumbled following the announcement that a big chunk of the Medicare cuts would come from the popular Medicare Advantage program, a market-oriented system in which participants can choose coverage by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide all Part A and Part B benefits.

According to health care analyst Carl McDonald, the new rates proposed by the Obama administration will have the net effect of reducing payments to Medicare Advantage plans by seven to eight percent in 2014. McDonald projects:

If implemented, these rates and the program changes CMS [Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services] is suggesting would be enormously disruptive to Medicare Advantage, likely forcing a number of smaller plans out of the business and creating disarray for many seniors.

According to Richard Foster, former chief actuary to the Medicare program, ObamaCare’s cuts to Medicare Advantage will likely force half of its current participants back into the old Medicare program, originated in 1965. It is estimated that this change will cost Medicare enrollees an average of $3,714 in 2017 alone.

Democrats have long been unfriendly toward the Medicare Advantage plan, which was passed as part of the Balanced Budget Amendment of 1997 and has seen tremendous growth over the past 10 years. Today, more than 25 percent of seniors receive their health benefits through Medicare Advantage.

Regarding the cuts, America’s Health Insurance Plans’ (AHIP) president Karen Ignagni said, “Washington cannot tax and cut Medicare Advantage this much and not expect seniors to be harmed.”

Last year it was revealed that, while AHIP was openly supporting ObamaCare and working on a deal with the White House, it was also secretly funneling over $100 million to the Chamber of Commerce to be spent on advertising designed to convince Americans that the new legislation should be defeated.

The administration’s proposal is open to outside comments until March 1st, ahead of the final announcement of the cuts on April 1st.

Obamacare Law Is “Death Panel” For Seniors -Vp Biden Invokes Palin On “Death Panel” Issue

October 12, 2012 in Medicare, Obama's America 2016, ObamaCare

BIDEN: You know, I heard that death panel argument from Sarah Palin. It seems every vice presidential debate I hear this kind of stuff about panels.   But let’s talk about Medicare. What we did is, we saved $716 billion and put it back, applied it to Medicare. We cut the cost of Medicare. We stopped overpaying insurance companies, doctors and hospitals. The AMA supported what we did. AARP endorsed what we did. And it extends the life of Medicare to 2024. They want to wipe this all out.

It also gave more benefits. Any senior out there, ask yourself: Do you have more benefits today? You do. If you’re near the donut hole, you have $800 — $600 more to help your prescription drug costs. You get wellness visits without co-pays. They wipe all of this out, and Medicare goes — becomes insolvent in 2016, number one.

DSA Marxists Use Obama and Democrat Sympathizers to Push Their Socialized Health Care Dream

October 8, 2012 in Anarchy, Congress, Hope and Change, Medicare, Obama's America 2016, ObamaCare, Obamanation

Trevor Loudon has just posted about how Democrat Sympathizers are pushing for a “Single Payor” System that would eventually subjugate every American to Socialized Medicine.

Meanwhile Megyn Kelly talks about the New Concerns As Hospitals Face Potential for Medicare Fines

The US’s largest Marxist organization, Democratic Socialists of America, (Closely affiliated with the 2012 Congressional Progressive [Socialist] Caucus – John Oliver MA 1st CD; Jim McGovern MA 3d CD;  Barney Frank MA 4th CD; John Tierney MA 6th CD; Ed Markey MA 7th CD; Mike Capuano MA 8th CD)  has always placed a very high priority on saddling America, with a “single payer” or socialized health care system.

The DSA Marxists see the Affordable Health Care Act, or Obamacare, as a significant stepping stone in this direction.

Steve Tarzynski, then a member of the DSA National Political Committee and chair of the DSA National Health Care Task force, explained DSA’s long term healthcare strategy, in Democratic Left January/February 1994:

We’ve met some of the modest goals that the national leadership set when DSA decided to make support for a single-payer Canadian-style health care system our major issue.

DSA members have served on the Clinton Health Care Task Force and in the leadership and rank and file of national and state single-payer coalitions. Perhaps most importantly, in 1991 we organized a twenty-two-city national tour of over forty Canadian health experts (from our sibling party, the New Democrats) that helped to galvanize the single-payer movement into action.

No other organization was in a position to carry out such a major tour. We have done a good job as the socialist current within the single-payer movement, but still have significant opportunities to improve DSA locals’ level of activism and our recruitment of activists into DSA through this issue. In the coming year, as we close in for the final legislative phase of this fight, the national DSA leadership and the DSA health care task force will focus efforts in these two areas.

The DSA National Convention in November unanimously adopted a resolution that clearly reaffirmed our support of the McDermott-Conyers-Wellstone single-payer bills (HR1200/S491). It also stipulated DSA’s advocacy of a “state option” for single payer in the final legislative package. The resolution also stated that DSA will organize and participate in anti-corporate campaigns targeting private health insurance, pharmaceutical lobbies, and any other corporate or political forces that seek to destroy real reform.

‘The most delicate aspect of our work is how we balance our efforts in improving the Clinton proposal and pushing for single-payer. This is not a new dilemma for the left. The tension between reform and revolution has existed within every socialist movement in Western industrialized democracies. It will always be with us…

Democratic socialists should project a vision of a moral society based on freedom, equality, and solidarity. We must also understand that reaching such a goal involves a gradual approach over a long period of years, with each reform becoming the foundation for the next. There is no other way, and history alone will judge the pace…

While Barack Obama has consistently denied that his goal is socialized healthcare, he is clearly lying through his teeth.

Obama’s personal physician in Chicago for many years, Quentin Young, is a leading DSA member and the father of the US “single payer” movement. Young has openly claimed credit, on at least several occasions, for indoctrinating Obama into the concept of socialized health care.

Quentin Young, Barack Obama, 2003

From a March 2009 Democracy Now! interview with DSA affiliate Amy Goodman:

AMY GOODMAN: You’ve been a longtime friend of Barack Obama.

DR. QUENTIN YOUNG: Yeah.

AMY GOODMAN: How has he changed over the years?

DR. QUENTIN YOUNG: Well, Barack Obama, as we know, was a community organizer, a very lofty calling, in my book, and he made the decision, when the opportunity came, that he could get more done politically, and he accepted the nomination for the seat in the State Senate. It’s not that long ago, really. It’s about a six, eight years ago.

Barack Obama, in those early days—influenced, I hope, by me and others—categorically said single payer was the best way, and he would inaugurate it if he could get the support, meaning majorities in both houses, which he’s got, and the presidency, which he’s got. And he said that on more than one occasion, and it represented the very high-grade intelligence we all know Barack has….

MIT academic and former Massachusetts state rep. John McDonough, was given credit in a recent Obama campaign video for designing Obamacare. McDonough was for several years, the chairman ofBoston Democratic Socialists of America.

Here, three long time DSA affiliates, Barack Obama and reps Jan Schakowsky and Barney Frank, reveal their true intentions to completely socialize US medicine.

Bill Clinton to Paul Ryan on Medicare Election: ‘Give me a Call’
ABC News’ Jonathan Karl (@jonkarl) reports:

The day after the stunning upset in the special congressional election in upstate New York, Rep. Paul Ryan is a man under fire.

But ABC News was behind the scenes with the Wisconsin Congressman and GOP Budget Committee Chairman when he got some words of encouragement none other than former President Bill Clinton.
 [yframe url=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXsRAYcL9xI’]
“So anyway, I told them before you got here, I said I’m glad we won this race in New York,” Clinton told Ryan, when the two met backstage at a forum on the national debt held by the Pete Peterson Foundation. But he added, “I hope Democrats don’t use this as an excuse to do nothing.”

Ryan told Clinton he fears that now nothing will get done in Washington.

“My guess is it’s going to sink into paralysis is what’s going to happen. And you know the math. It’s just, I mean, we knew we were putting ourselves out there. You gotta start this. You gotta get out there. You gotta get this thing moving,” Ryan said.
